Bokaro industrial area
Introduction
Bokaro, the ‘Steel City of India’, is a major industrial hub in Jharkhand. The Bokaro Industrial Area consists of four phases. Phase-1 & Phase-2 are over 50 years old, and comprise over 200 industries, many of which are ancillary units for the large-scale public-sector Bokaro Steel Plant. Phase-3 & Phase-4 have been developed since 2010, and comprise about 150 units of which 135 are steel fabrication and engineering works; 10 are foundries; and 5 are flour mills.
