Belgaum foundry cluster (Karnataka)

Introduction
Belgaum is a prominent foundry cluster, with about 160 MSME foundry units. These units produce castings mainly for automotive components, as well as for pumps and valves, gears, machine tools, elevators, food processing and other industrial applications. Most of the units are located in three industrial estates: (1) Udyambag Industrial Estate, (2) Belgaum Manufacturers Cooperative Industrial Estate Limited (BEMCIEL ) and (3) Macche Industrial Estate. The cluster provides direct employment to about 7500 people.
