Thangadh ceramic cluster (Gujarat)

Introduction

Thangadh is a large ceramic cluster, close to the Morbi ceramic cluster. There are about 225 ceramic units operating in the cluster, engaged in the production of sanitary ware (161 units), refractories (45 units), wall tiles (8 units) and art tiles (11 units). The basic raw material, fire clay, is locally available. The production capacity of the units ranges from 1 tonne per day (tpd) to over 8 tpd. The cluster provides direct employment to about 15,000 people.
