Mandi Gobindgarh steel rerolling cluster (Punjab)

Introduction

Mandi Gobindgarh is known as ‘Steel Town’ for its largest cluster of steel rerolling mills in the country. The cluster has about 404 MSME s, of which about 341 are small and medium scale steel rerolling units. The steel rerolling industry is supported by around 500 traders and allied industries like induction furnaces, foundries, pipe plants, etc. The cluster provides direct and indirect employment to over 25,000 people.
