Cluster News—Skilling foundry workers in Howrah on improved operating practices
This issue focuses on promoting energy efficiency in the Howrah foundry cluster through improved melting technologies like divided blast cupola (DBC) and improving technical skills of plant personnel in best operating practice (BOP). It carries a profile of activities under the TERI-SDC project; a case study on BOP implementation; and the gist of an awareness workshop in Kolkata in June 2016.

It outlines a study conducted by TERI with the support of Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation on promoting energy efficient pumps in India. It also presents a profile of Rajkot pump set cluster, including summaries of workshops under the TERI–SDC project and the SIDBI-supported Cluster Level Intervention Program (CLIP).
